Reuse, Recycle, Rehome – Boxted
Saturday 18 June, from 10am
Boxted Biodiversity and Sustainability Group introduce the concept of Boxted Reuse, Recycle and Rehome Saturdays. Place items they wish to offer free of charge outside your propertys on a certain Saturday each the month from 10am. This could be brick-brac, toys, books, plants, fruit and veg as a few examples. Please clear offerings away by mid afternoon to ensure our village remains tidy.

Langham Community Cafe

The next cafe takes place Friday 24 June, 10.30 to noon, in the Langham Community Centre, hosted by Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, including the usual book sale. Entry £1 including tea/coffee and biscuit.
Boxted Village Walk
Saturday 25 June, 10am
The Hub/Playing Fields
Following the success of the May village walk, please join us for another. Once again, a circular route of approx. 3 miles will be planned, including some road walking, but as much offroad footpath walking as possible, returning to the Hub for refreshments.
Dates have been set for the next few months so you can get them in your diaries now if you wish, they are: 23 July, 20 August, 24 September, 22 October. No pre-commitment required, simply turn up on the day.

What’s going on at Boxted WI
In the WI you’ll learn new skills, hear new ideas, have amazing experiences, make new friends and above all else, have fun. There’s something for everyone, so why not come along and find out more?
You can visit us three times before committing to join and of course, there’s always tea and cake!
What to expect:
We will always make you feel welcome and if you’d like to bring a friend along, please do – the more the merrier! At each monthly meeting we arrange to have a speaker or organise a workshop or activity and there are opportunities to get together between meetings.
We meet on the second Tuesday of the month 7.30 – 9.30pm in Boxted Village Hall, Cage Lane, CO4 5RE.
Admission: Included in annual membership or suggested donation for guests of £3.

The Edge & The Zone

Green Energy Consultation

A petition has been set up to ‘SAY NO TO 180km of Essex Suffolk Norfolk pylons’ and is asking the Government to look realistically to the green future and build a strategic offshore grid instead. You can find the petition at www.pylonseastanglia.co.uk or you can write to local MP Sir Bernard Jenkin – bernard.jenkin.mp@parliament.uk who is chair of OffSET (the Off-Shore Electricity Grid Task Force).
St Peter’s Markets Plants
Over 500 plants are for sale in aid of Langham with Boxted Church Funds. Most plants are £1.50 to £3.50 with quantity discounts. Perennials, English native trees, shrubs, herbs and climbers are available. First come first served but all will be done to fulfil requests.
