Know your onions!

Local Onion Producer Stourgarden recently featured on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped programme. In the programme, presenter Andi Oliver visited the facilities (before Covid restrictions) and saw the onions growing, being irrigated in Boxted (as above) and witnessed the processes involved in getting them from farm to consumer.

A fascinating watch. You can see it on the Channel 4 app or via your computer at  https://www.channel4.com/programmes/food-unwrapped/on-demand/70358-007  or you can do it the old fashioned way and download on catchup on your TV (Series 19 episode 2).

There is currently a problem with the halyard which prevents the flag being flown at the moment and a specialist firm has been called in to help rectify the problem.

For this reason it was not possible to fly the flag at half mast to mark the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Both St Mary’s Langham and St Peter’s Boxted are now open for private prayer.

A weekly service is streamed via Zoom:

  • April 25, 2021 at 9:15 am – 10:00 am
  • May 2, 2021 at 10:00 am – 11:00 am
  • May 9, 2021 at 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Please email lwb.wb.gh.parishes@gmail.com to request details of the zoom link; a recording of the service is available from Sunday afternoon at the following link:
