Operation Christmas Child: Shoebox Appeal 2016

Thanks go to organiser Claire Arculus and to everyone who contributed to this year’s collection of 127 filled shoeboxes. They are being transported by Keith and Shirley Groome to the Samaritan’s Purse depot at Sudbury, then on to Eastern Europe. Of the 127 boxes, 73 were offered through St Mary’s and St Peter’s Churches, 24 through Boxted St Peter’s School and 30 through Langham Primary School. Grateful thanks are also due to Keith and Shirley who are retiring after twenty years of collecting and transporting Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes.

A new telephone exchange box has been installed on the Boxted Straight Road near the crossroads of Chapel Road and Mill Road. This has further extended higher broadband speeds to parts of the village.
