Faces of The Village

Ros Cryer
Ros, pictured with her daughter Martha, joined the parish council six years ago when she moved to the village. She enjoys living in Boxted and the sense of community it gives her. Ros was very involved with the formation of the Boxted Neighbourhood Development Plan during her time with the council but the arrival of a baby son in February and ongoing work commitments has meant that she has now stood down from the parish council due to time constraints.
The NDP was adopted in December 2016 and can be read here:

Steve Lawrence.
After more than eight years Steve has decided to stand down from Boxted Parish Council due to ever growing work commitments and a lack of expertise in the continually evolving parish council matters. He feels “his chair” would be better filled by some new blood. Steve says: “I initially wanted to join the Parish Council to try and put back my little bit for living in this beautiful little piece of our green and pleasant land, I hope I have achieved this particularly with the Village Design Project of which I still have a hard copy, although it is now consigned to the annals of local government revolving door administration history” (Steve was Chairman of the Village Design Statement Group)
The Village Design Statement, which has now been superseded by Boxted’s Neighbourhood Development Plan, is an interesting historical document with some beautiful photos in it and can be read here:

Due to Ros and Steve standing down the parish council currently has two vacancies. Two residents have come forward who are willing to be co-opted. If anyone else thinks they may be interested in applying to serve or would like to find out what is involved please contact the clerk to the parish council: Denise Humphris boxted-council Tele 01206 329019
