Northern Gateway Sports Scheme.
Colchester Borough Council would like to bring residents up to date with progress on the development and delivery of the proposed new Sports scheme on the northern side of the A12 at J28. The Council is now working towards a planning submission by the end January 2018. LANGHAM
22 NOVEMBER
On Wednesday 22 November at 7.30 pm there will be a meeting at Langham Community Centre to consider the formation of a “heritage” group in Langham with the objectives of acquiring and preserving material relating to the history of the village and of encouraging and developing interest in that history. Anyone who may be interested in such a project is invited but particularly of course those who responded at the Evening of Local History earlier in the year. A Medieval Christmas takes you on a musical journey from the onset of winter through Christmas and into the hope of the new year to come. The Medieval and Renaissance music that accompanies this journey comes mainly from England with a sprinkling of pieces from further across Europe. Interspersed with readings related to the experience of winter and the Nativity, Christmas celebrations and old traditions, Hexachordia captures in music and words the joy that is to be found at this time of the year.

Dedham Road: Burglary, Residential – Non Dwelling. Suspects unknown have cut the lock to access premises and stolen 2 vehicles. The motorcycle was later recovered by the victim.

Betty Potters Dip
Betty Potter’s Dip, an unmarked roadside location on the west side of Straight Road, Boxted, is named after Elizabeth Potter, an eighteenth century suicide who was buried there. Folklore has since assumed that she was a witch.
