Sign Up to the Colchester Great British Spring Clean 2018
Join volunteers from across the borough to spring clean Colchester and spruce up our streets and open spaces in support of The Great British Spring Clean.
Colchester Borough Council is encouraging residents, groups and businesses to pledge to de-litter and improve areas that have perhaps been overlooked. We really hope everyone will get involved with a flurry of litter picking and any other activities on the special national clean-up weekend of Friday 2 – Sunday 4 March. If you can’t make this date, then anytime during March would be great!
By taking part and showing your support, communities from across the borough can be better protected, creating a lasting legacy of a cleaner, tidier Colchester that everyone can be proud of.
Have your litter pickers at the ready, as official rubbish bags will be made available from a local collection point (TBC) and if required litter picking equipment can be borrowed (subject to availability). After the big clean up weekend there’s no hassle for you to dispose of the rubbish as our Community Zone teams will collect all the litter for disposal.
We’re getting in touch with Ward, Town and Parish Councillors, community groups, schools, resident’s associations, businesses, organisations and existing litter picking individuals and groups including those registered in the Council’s Litter Warriors scheme.
Last year’s annual spring clean saw over 1000 people take part and with your help, this years can be even more successful! Please feel free to pass this email on to anyone who you think may be interested in getting involved.
