    The new programme starts on Thursday 8 August when a local hairdresser will speak on her world of hairdressing. Treasurer Gill Brown will also be accepting the subscription of £25 for the coming year at the meeting.

    Good Neighbours

    If you live in Langham or Boxted, are elderly, have limited mobility or are sick, we can provide transport to take you to surgery or hospital appointments, get your prescription from the pharmacy, take you to the hairdresser etc. If you are housebound and would like some company or need help with small household tasks, we also make home visits.

    Since 2009 the Good Neighbours service has complemented the Parish Newsletter as a practical manifestation of the Christian faith among the communities of Langham and Boxted. The service is operated by a team of volunteers in each village and since it began there have been more than 700 occasions on which a volunteer has been able to help. Good Neighbours jobs mostly involve taking a client by car to and from a medical appointment.

    New volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to join one of the teams providing this much-valued service to the community, contact:
