    Pilates is back!

    Pilates will resume at Boxted Village Hall on Thursday 1st October at 10.30am.

    Due to Covid social distancing, places will be limited so booking is necessary.

    School news


    The autumn term is underway – download the new newsletter here.

    The photo below was taken in 1984 and several of the pupils in the photo still live and/or work in the village. In fact the current chair of governors of the school is in the photo.  Can you spot him?

    The original primary school building was sited next to St Peter’s Church.

    Once the new primary school was built near Boxted Cross the original school building was sold and converted to a domestic residence.


    Elections open for ESNEFT governors

    East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is inviting students with an interest in healthcare to consider standing for election to its Council of Governors.

    The trust, which runs Colchester and Ipswich hospitals together with a range of community health services, is inviting anyone who would like to get involved or has an interest in shaping services for the future to apply.

    ESNEFT has nine public governor vacancies to fill and three staff positions. They are:

    • Public: Colchester – two vacancies
    • Public: Ipswich – four vacancies
    • Public: Rest of Essex – two vacancies
    • Public: Rest of Suffolk and South Norfolk – three vacancies

    Anyone who is interested in standing can find more information and a nomination form at www.cesvotes.com/ESNE2020. Further help is available from the returning officer, who is available by calling 020 8889 9203 or emailing ftnominationenquiries@cesvotes.com.

    Nominations are open from 1 September until 29 September.

    Church services

    Sunday 20 September

    8am BCP Harvest celebration service will be at St Mary’s Church, Langham.

    The above photo was taken in 2018 when hymn singing was an integral part of the services.  Hymns are not sung at the moment due to Covid 19 safety measures.

    Sunday services are on theLangham and Boxted Church Website for all to view under Streamed Services. https://lb-churches.co.uk/streamed-services/ They will be uploaded on Sunday afternoons for as long as services are streamed.

    Daily Hope – a free phone line of hymns, reflections and prayers. Available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 has been set up for those unable to join in online church services during the period of restrictions.

    A collection will be made for Colchester Foodbank – a shopping list of items always required are listed below.  For those who cannot make the service there will be a box in both St Mary’s and St Peter’s Church until the 27th September.
