    Stay safe everyone.

    Karl’s virtual London marathon

Karl Graves will be running his virtual London marathon on Sunday 4th October through Boxted and Langham (see route below). He is raising funds for Boxted School Association. He has been training very hard and was very disappointed that the actual event had to be cancelled. He will be competing in the real thing at some point, once the pandemic allows!

It would be great if you could give him a cheer or wave as he passes. He will be wearing a bright pink BSA top!

Should anyone like to sponsor him, the link to his virgin money page is: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KarlGraves

Don’t fall foul of the law

You would be breaking the law if you didn’t clear up after your furry friend, so new signs have been erected in Boxted playing field to remind everyone to do so.

Please always use these bins and the one outside the British Legion when your dog has done its job. It has been noticed that some people hang their poo bags in shrubs along the public footpaths. Not everyone finds this agreeable so please carry your dog’s waste with you and either take it home to dispose of or use the bins provided.

Dog walkers are also reminded that they should keep dogs on a lead when there are other people about, especially children. Not everyone is comfortable with dogs on the loose and not everyone’s dogs get on!

    Your views matter

Two important public consultations are being conducted on the reform of our planning system. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has issued the following consultations:

    • Planning for the Future : the planning white paper (NALC deadline for responses of 15 th October ) – download the pdf here
    • Transparency & Competition : a call for evidence and data on land control (NALC deadline for responses 16 th October ) – download the pdf here

The NALC are very keen for as many local Town and Parish Councils to respond as possible. Individuals can also comment. These are important consultations which require a large response. Make your views known, and help us represent the EALC Membership by giving a response. Please be aware of the individual deadlines for each consultation.

To respond to the consultation on this important matter, please email policycomms@nalc.gov.uk .
