Boxted WI blazing the trail!
The current members have had a blast this past year with zoom meetings which included gin tasting, silly quizzes, cocktail making, sewing bee challenges and a Christmas party contained in a bag. They also met safely outside in members gardens when Covid rules allowed.
They have a programme arranged already for the coming year which will be able to adapt as usual to any Covid regulations and would love new members to join them.
If you think you would like to dip your toe contact either Geraldine Russell on 272261 or Gillian Walker on 272261 who would be happy to hear from you.

Boxted bridge update
Dedham Vale Society Newsletter article on George Double
Take a look at page 12 of the latest Dedham Vale Society Newsletter to read the article ‘George Double, The Man who built Boxted bridge’
https://dedhamvalesociety.org.uk/newsletters/newsletter_pdf/Newsletter89.pdf
The Dedham Vale Society was set up in 1938 to protect the heritage and villages of the Dedham Vale. The Dedham Vale stretches for nearly 14 miles on either side of the river Stour, from Manningtree in the east to Wormingford in the west. The Society’s influence has been widespread and many campaigns have been fought with a great deal of success. Bodies such as the water and electricity-generating companies, building-developers and, most recently, the Civil Aviation Authority have all been persuaded that their proposals have not been in the interest of the fragile nature of this tiny AONB.
The Dedham Vale Society is highly supportive about Boxted Bridge and the need for adherence to the proper planning process and a fair evaluation of all options, including repair and strengthening. The Society is a registered charity and depends on membership and public donations to sustain its activities on behalf of the Vale. The annual membership fee is £10 per individual or £15 for 2 people living in the same household.
