Erin’s glad to be playing footie again
Under 11s team player Erin (pictured third from left in the top row below) was so pleased to be playing football again, she sent a thank you letter to the Parish Council.
Dear Mrs Damen and Boxted Parish Council
I am writing to you to say thank you for letting us play our football again after we had to stop because of the coronavirus.
Although I have been able to play in the garden and in the park, I was not able to play with my friends. Now at last, I have finally been able to see my friends and play football with them.
When we arrived, we had to clean our hands and make sure that we kept two metres away from each other. Our coach James explained the rules and split us into two groups. It was the hottest day of the year so far so everyone was sweating!
It was even more fun than usual because James had planned to do some shooting and passing drills. We were not allowed to play a match or tackle each other. There was a new player called Isabel who was quite good as this is her first time playing. I really enjoyed being back at training as everyone has now got used to the new way of playing football.
When I got home, I was so hot I wanted to jump in the pool but instead I had a shower and a big drink.
Sunday 5th July (via Zoom)
The government and the Church of England have updated their advice and are allowing churches to meet together once certain criteria are met.
So far we know that:
- Social distancing must be practised
- Use hand sanitiser
- Have a one way system for safe entry and exit
- No singing is allowed
- Communion Service will be possible with proper safeguards in place.
With this in mind plans are being put into place and it is hopeful we can meet from the 12th July but please do keep an eye on emails and websites for details nearer the time.
Should you require prayer please contact Revd Mandy Elmes via email email@example.com.
