Good Neighbours
Forty past and present Good Neighbours volunteers gathered together at Boxted Village Hall on 22 May. They were celebrating 10 years of service to people in Boxted and Langham, during which they have carried out some 1,000 tasks, The occasion saw the introduction of a striking new logo devised for the Good Neighbours by Shirley Szymanek of Boxted and, of course, a substantial “birthday” cake was ceremonially cut and then greatly enjoyed.

Can you help, too?
The Good Neighbours are in need of more volunteers . Some who read this may themselves need help in a few years’ time. Will the Good Neighbours be there for them to call? Unless more volunteers come forward soon, the Good Neighbours may indeed not be there.
If you would like to consider joining the Good Neighbours, please contact:

Plea for plants!
Boxted School Association welcomes any plant donations for the plant stall at our Summer Fête to be held from 3.15pm on Friday 28th June at Boxted St. Peter’s Primary School.
Last year we had a great response from local residents and we hope you will be able to support us again.
Please leave any donations outside the school reception area on any of the following Friday mornings:
- 14th June
- 21st June
- 28th June
All funds raised will benefit the children of Boxted St Peter’s.
Thank you for your kind support.

Next household items drop off
Boxted Village Hall car park, Cage Lane
The car park can get very congested when the freighter visits. It would be helpful if as many people as possible could use the overflow car park and walk their waste across to the freighter.

- 5K starts 10.15am
- 10K starts 10.30am
Boxted St Peter’s School
- Refreshments, bar, BBQ and raffle with fabulous prizes. Children’s bouncy castle and fun events.
- Cake and teas/coffee are being provided by volunteers from the School BSA and Boxted WI.
- The Boxted Royal British Legion is providing the BBQ and licensed bar.
- The Boxted Methodist Silver Band will be motivating the runners on the final kilometre, playing outside the Royal British Legion on Straight Road.
Villagers will be helping out marshalling the course, manning the water stations around the route and managing the entrants’ registration.
Anyone from the village not running in the event are still more than welcome at the school for the fun day.
All of the proceeds of this event will help raise much needed funds for the children of Boxted St Peter’s Primary School.
