On Wednesday 22 November at 7.30 pm there will be a meeting at Langham Community Centre to consider the formation of a “heritage” group in Langham with the objectives of acquiring and preserving material relating to the history of the village and of encouraging and developing interest in that history. Anyone who may be interested in such a project is invited but particularly of course those who responded at the Evening of Local History earlier in the year. For more information, contact Chris Graves (272019) or Ian Hollands (230525) of the Langham Parish Council’s Heritage Committee.

Have you ever thought about becoming a Parish Councillor?

Boxted Parish Council currently has a vacancy for a councillor.

The Parish Council is responsible for the following assets:

King George playing field, which facilitates several organised sports activities and is a pleasant open space with play facilities for children.

The Community Hub, which is a comparatively new venture and hosts the sports clubs, an afternoon school club, and a cafe/meeting place.

Boxted Village Hall – the Parish Council recently took over as trustees for Boxted Village Hall.

The council is also a voice that can contribute to the democratic process in relation to decisions that Colchester Borough and Essex County Council make. The Boxted Neighbourhood Plan was adopted in 2016 and forms part of the planning consultation process.

If you care about Boxted village and feel you have some life skills and experience that can contribute to the community please consider becoming a parish councillor.

At the very least it would involve attending 10 meetings a year but any more time that can be given to community engagement is welcomed.

If you feel you may be interested please contact the parish clerk, Denise Humphris:
