Saying Goodbye to Faces of The Village

Elsie Towns, pictured above, passed away recently in her 103rd year.

Elsie was born in the village and her vivid memories of village life are lodged in the Village History Archives.

Although she moved to Mile End when she married Elsie retained strong ties with Boxted Methodist Church, attending services regularly, The above photo was taken in her 100 th year at the Methodist Christmas Bazaar. Three generations of her family still live in the village.
