Boxted based folk / rock outfit Silbury Hill have released a CD of original tracks one of which features the song the duo performed at the WW1 centenary event at St Peters in 2014. The song called ‘This Noble Man’ features the story of Walter Denny, a Boxted resident and relative of Douglas Carter, a previous village historian. and their guests were thoroughly entertained at the April open meeting by Lorraine Pendleton and ‘Bellydanza’. The troupe gave a history of the dance followed by a vibrant and colourful demonstration of their skills. Refreshments were of a middle eastern flavour. Finally, the ladies took part enmass in a workshop, with much fun and laughter. Our thanks to the troupe for a wonderful evening.
