FRUGAL LUNCHES

Annual Lenten Frugal Lunches on Tuesday 8 March until Tuesday 22 March at Boxted Village Hall at 12 mid-day (following the weekly Coffee Café) until 22 March. Jos Carter (272755) will be very glad to have offers of help in making the soups and other aspects. Proceeds to the Colchester Emergency Night Shelter.

Boxted Parish Council

The monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday 9 March at the village hall from 7 pm.

Cllr Tracey Wells has resigned from the parish council due to work commitments. Persons interested in applying for the vacancy are invited to contact the Clerk to the Parish Council, Denise Humphris.

England Rugby Matches The clubhouse is open and showing all England rugby matches on the big screen. 12 March vs Wales 4pm and 19 March vs France 8pm

Easter Fun Day and Barbecue Saturday 26 March from 12.00 at the Legion. Bouncy Castle, Egg Painting, an Easter Egg for all children just £3.00.

Quiz Night with a 70’s Sitcom Theme.
Saturday 2 April from 8pm . Come in character for extra points.

Grand National Saturday 9 April the clubhouse will be open from 12.00 to watch the race and enjoy a sweepstake. The Joshua boxing match will be on the big screen in the evening.

Beer Festival Saturday 30 April – Monday 2 May

Quiz night Saturday 7 May from 8pm

11 am service at the Methodist Church

Colchester Half Marathon

Sunday 13 March from 9 am with rolling road closures throughout Colchester between 09.00 – 13.00

Village road closures will be take place in;

Langham Lane, Park Lane, Langham High Street from 09.40 – 11.30

Old Mill Road – Dedham Road from 09.55 – 12.00

Boxted Straight Road from 10.10 – 12.40

Beyond these points the roads will be open but there will be thousands of runners so please expect delays and avoid the roads if possible.
