Faces of The Village
Scott Dolling, who organises the advertising for the village magazine, with his children, William and Poppy.
Scott and his wife Vanessa moved to Boxted from Needham Market in Suffolk to be nearer to his employment in Southend. The move certainly cut down his commuting time but he has noticed a gradual deterioration in travelling time due to build up of traffic over the last five years. Scott car shares regularly with one other person and often two. He loves the village and is keen to keep it looking tidy helping out as a litter picker and would like to encourage more community pride in keeping it special.

Landowners asked to clear ditches
With more heavy rain predicted in the coming weeks, Essex County Council is advising landowners who have ditches on or adjacent to their properties to have a regular maintenance programme in place.
Landowners have a duty to keep their ditches clear. Leaves and other material can easily clog drainage ditches causing flooding issues not just for the landowner but also for surrounding public highways and buildings.
