Members will be listening to a talk by Tracy Mackness, an Essex bad girl turned good. She is now the owner of the successful “farm to fork” Giggly Pig Company, with it’s distinctive pink and black vans”
She is passionate about pigs, farming, and the challenges or running a small business. She has also written a book about her past called Jail Bird: The Life and Crimes of an Essex Bad Girl.

World War 1 : Family Memories
Much research has been done about the brave men of Boxted who fought and died during the Great War.
However, little has been written about the men who returned from the trenches or of the women who kept the home fires burning in the absence of their menfolk.
Most families had a close or distant relative who experienced the War. If you, or someone you know, are a descendants of such a person and have memories or stories that have been handed down to you, we would love to hear from you. We can then record the names and details in the Village achieves for posterity.
An Armistice Centenary Concert is being planned in Peter’s Church on 3rdNovember. If there is sufficient response to this request, we would like to display a Memories Board for everyone to read at the event.
