Boxted Bridge update

Plans for Boxted Bridge were recently reviewed at a virtual meeting attended by Councillors Lewis Barber and Darius Laws, Essex Highways, local Parish Councils, Councillors from Suffolk, independent experts and campaigners.
Items discussed included moving forward the load testing safety checks of the bridge, so that it can be opened for pedestrians and cyclists. The meeting also focused on how to progress the future of the bridge, which feels like it’s been in abeyance for too long.
The planning application for Boxted Bridge should shortly be voted on by Babergh District and Essex County Councils. The recent success of Dedham Vale Society (who won their test case against the Secretary of State over the failure of the Inspector to apply the duty to conserve National Landscapes and National Parks when giving permission for the car park development and lighting at Manningtree Station) is a decision that can be brought to the attention of Planning Committee members when the application is considered

A 1920s English seaside town bears witness to a dark, absurd scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, “Wicked Little Letters” follows two neighbours: deeply religious local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and fellow residents start to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women, led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan), begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect that something is amiss and Rose might not be the culprit after all.
