Church Services
Sunday 14 January
9.30 am Holy Communion -St Peter’s, Boxted
On the first Sunday in Boxted and the third Sunday in Langham there will be a shortened spoken Communion service at 9.30 am followed by refreshments and then will follow a more informal Morning Worship service at 10.30 am for those who wish to stay on.
The aim of the change is to give the rector time to spend with the congregation during the coffee break before having to leave to conduct a service at a different church.

Heavy rainfall and flooding

It is important to keep any crossover pipes that have been installed to form an access over a ditch clear and free flowing.

Donations of old prescription spectacles

There is a collection box in the porch at Dedham Church for donations of unused prescription glasses which will go to the eye hospital in Lunsar, Sierra Leone.
The hospital will read the prescription of the glasses sent and give them out to patients accordingly.
There are many patients in Lunsar in need of treatment and glasses but after receiving their prescription many patients cannot afford to buy a pair of reading glasses as all of their wages are spent on feeding their family.
Be safe, be seen

Due to the high volume of traffic through the village a plea for cyclists and pedestrians to wear Hi Vis jackets/vests to keep safe.
The image on the left above shows a barely visible cyclist with no safety jacket, whereas the image on the right gives motorists a clear view of someone walking along the road.
Garden waste collections

Garden waste will now be collected only if you sign up to the new subscription service.
At the end of 2023, Colchester City Council stopped collecting the white garden waste bags. The new wheelie bin service commences this coming week, 15 January. Your usual collection day still applies, but only if you have signed up to the garden waste subscription service and have received your brown wheelie bin and sticker.
Further details on opting in to this service can be found HERE
