Severalls Lane Bridge Update
Text taken from Cllr Lewis Barber’s Facebook page:
Please see below latest update I have received from National Highways in speech marks having followed up to obtain progress. I am also liaising with Essex Highways to see if we can continue to put pressure on National Highways to bring this to a conclusion:
“I have just spoken with the structures engineer for Severalls Lane and work is progressing, again with a design team. We are hoping to be able to revisit a heat-straightening option, which is a quicker, cheaper and preferred option to having to completely replace the bridge deck and damaged beam. We are awaiting confirmation that it is practically possible, then assuming it is they will do some local engagement around minimising disruption while the work is undertaken. Unfortunately, I don’t have a timescale but am hoping for confirmation quite soon.”
