RBL Quiz Night

Langham 100 Club
The last draw for this year’s subscription was at the end of August and members are invited to renew their tickets for the year starting September 2022. The tickets are still £26 each and the prizes of £40, £25, £15 and £10 each month are drawn at the Community cafés, usually on the last Friday of the month. A few tickets are available.

Work has now commenced on refurbishing Boxted Community Hub. Everyone will be pleased to know that they’ve seized the day and the infamous carpet is now in the skip!

Are you elderly, vulnerable or otherwise in need of help, and live in Langham or Boxted? A group of local volunteers can help with transport to appointments, collection of prescriptions or pay a visit to keep you company. Call Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm:

Green Energy Consultation

A petition has been set up to ‘SAY NO TO 180km of Essex Suffolk Norfolk pylons’ and is asking the Government to look realistically to the green future and build a strategic offshore grid instead. You can find the petition at www.pylonseastanglia.co.uk or you can write to local MP Sir Bernard Jenkin – bernard.jenkin.mp@parliament.uk who is chair of OffSET (the Off-Shore Electricity Grid Task Force).
St Peter’s Markets Plants
Over 500 plants are for sale in aid of Langham with Boxted Church Funds. Most plants are £1.50 to £3.50 with quantity discounts. Perennials, English native trees, shrubs, herbs and climbers are available. First come first served but all will be done to fulfil requests.
